Are you in a city or town with a Safer at Home or Shelter in Place mandate? If so, you already know what a life-changing experience it is – not just for people, but for pets, too!
Of course, they are happy to have you home! However, for many pets, a change in their daily routine can be confusing and even trigger anxiety.
Here are some ways to proactively help your fur baby stay calm, balanced and feel at ease.
Establish a playtime routine
Ten minute sessions two or three times a day offers a wonderful opportunity for relieving stress (yours and your pet’s), strengthening your bond and keeping your pet active.
Cats love interactive toys like wands with feathers or ‘prey’ on the end. Get them moving! Pull over furniture or under doors. Provide fun toys to bat around and chase. Some cats will even play fetch. Dezi and Roo offers a wide variety of excellent and inexpensive options. Have a senior cat? A game of hide and seek gets them moving and stimulates their mind.
Inside play with dogs can include a game of fetch or tug of war with a toy. West Paw’s line of durable and sustainable toys include sizes that are appropriate for all dogs. Dogs can also be entertained for hours with a puzzle toy , like the Hide and Slide by Nina Ottosson.
Most state and county mandates being enforced include allowing outside exercise for you and your pet. Sure, you want to be outside – but after three or four walks, your dog may not be enjoying it as much as you do.
Between the change in routine, receiving more treats than usual and going for more frequent or extended walks, our pets can truly benefit from the Organic Full Spectrum Hemp Oil with naturally occurring CBD featured in the Treatibles line of chews, oil dropper bottles, capsules and topical cream.
Our products help instill calm, maintain normal emotional balance, promote relaxation, support digestive tract health, assist the immune system and enhance function of joints and connective tissue.
Treatibles hasn’t forgotten about you, awesome pet parents. Social distancing and maybe too much together time with the humans in your home leaving you feeling anxious or stressed? Our goal is always to provide Harmony for the whole family®. Check out our Auntie Dolores line for people.
