Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is a nonprofit West Hollywood, California 501(c)(3) dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles County and City shelters on the day they’re scheduled for euthanasia. They work tirelessly to find these dogs loving, qualified homes.
Ace of Hearts was founded in 2001 by Kari Whitman after her cherished American Bulldog, Ace passed away.
Although this amazing organization specializes in so-called ‘bully breeds,’ they rescue all dogs in need.  Once in their care, Ace of Hearts rehabilitates these special dogs and places them in qualified homes with loving families.

“One of our greatest Treatibles success stories is with an Ace of Hearts rescue dog named Riley. She is a sweet and affectionate American Bulldog with many reactive issues. These issues can be intense with other dogs and strangers to the point where it was almost impossible to keep her in a stable home for too long,” shared Whitman.  “We started working with a patient and kindhearted foster who loved her dearly. Riley still had a long way to go as far as socialization, so we introduced Treatibles as part of her training. Now she has a much calmer demeanor when being introduced to new people and passing dogs on the street and can be walked without worry.”

Ace of Hearts is also committed to finding senior dogs a new forever home. Their Seniors for Seniors Program focuses on senior dogs who are often passed over because of their age and medical concerns.
Because many senior humans 65 and older have so much love to offer but are often on tight budgets, Ace of Hearts waves the fee when a dog 8 years or older is adopted.
“Our goal is to rescue more at-risk senior dogs from high-kill shelters who will, in turn, provide unconditional love and companionship to a senior who otherwise would not have had the means to adopt a dog,” said Whitman.
