Treatibles April 2019 Rescue Spotlight: Pets Lifeline

jesse&mimi

Jesse & Mimi

Jesse is last year's kitten- always the kitten not picked. His ear is tipped, but we learned he is not feral. However, he is shy so time and again all his friends in the room got adopted and he's left alone. Treatibles helped with his shelter anxiety. Mimi has been adopted and returned twice since January 2019. First returned for being "feral," and then she was returned for not getting along with the existing cat. Good news! They have just been adopted together!

whistlerPups

The Whistler 'Pups'

These senior dogs belong to one of Pets Life Line’s longtime supporters and foster mom. They suffer from the discomfort of being large, older dogs. They have joint mobility issues and discomfort. Their mom has been giving them Treatibles and then she watches them run like puppies again! They have also recently moved into a new home. The Treatibles helped the dogs deal with the move and the stress of the continuous work going on in the new home.

shelby

Shelby

Shelby came as an adult stray and was never claimed. She suffers from severe anxiety and spends hours in hiding. What gets her out from under the blankets? A nice chew from Treatibles.

gucci

Gucci

Gucci came to us with a serious injury to her stomach. We think she was attacked by a larger animal. She had surgery and has just recovered enough to join the cats in the cat room. A little nervous being the new kid in town, Treatibles help calm her.

Pets Lifeline is dedicated to protect and improve the lives of cats and dogs in need throughout the Sonoma Valley in Northern California. The organization offers sheltering and adoption, education, and a variety of community programs.

“Pets Lifeline is the only safe haven for homeless and abandoned cats and dogs in Sonoma Valley. Each year the demand for our services grows, yet expenses continue to exceed our donations,” shared Sara Rusmisel, Administrative Coordinator.

Established in 1983, Pets Lifeline came into being out of necessity and a deep love and respect for animals. Prior to 1982, there were no shelters or rescue groups in the area dedicated to the special circumstances surrounding stray and abandoned dogs and cats. This motivated a small group of dedicated animal lovers to join together and create the animal welfare group that one year later would become Pets Lifeline.
Animals were placed in temporary foster care or housed in makeshift quarters until 1987 when the group’s physical shelter was constructed.
The facility accommodates 13 dogs and 50 cats. With the help of the foster care volunteers, Pets Lifeline is able to help many more animals. The organization helps nearly 500 cats and dogs each year find their forever home.
For the last few years, Pets Lifeline has been providing Treatibles products to cats and dogs in their shelter and in foster homes who are exhibiting stress or anxiety. They continually report success stories to us and we are sharing some here.
We do encourage you to check out the Pets Lifeline website and support them by either making a donation or sharing this post with your friends.
